Say what you will about Nothing, but this brand certainly has a taste for flashy design. The latest smartphone endeavor from Nothing, the Community Edition Project, has introduced a stunning winning entry for phone design.
Named Phosphorescence, the concept features green-tinted phosphorescent material finishes that emit a soft glow in the dark. The creators, Kenta and Astrid, have designed a phone that glows passively, using sunlight to power the glowing effect.
The glow-in-the-dark design utilizes photoluminescent plastic sheeting with inorganic phosphors that absorb light to create the glowing effect. This feature not only adds aesthetics but also serves a functional purpose by aiding visibility in dark environments.
While the final design may undergo changes before its official launch, Nothing received over 400 entries for the Community Edition Project, with Phosphorescence emerging as the winning entry.
Stage 1 of the Community Edition is almost complete.
Thank you for all your entries. If you haven’t submitted your designs yet, you still have a chance until April 16, 2024. https://t.co/miCrEAv5Yt
