TechCrunch recently reviewed the Vive XR Elite portable headset, highlighting its competitive stance against Meta’s Quest Pro. The newly announced Vive Focus Vision is not only more affordable at $1,000 less, but also larger in size.
Designed to compete with Apple’s Vision Pro, Microsoft’s Hololens, and the Magic Leap 2, the Vive Focus Vision is a mixed reality headset that offers both VR and AR experiences. Targeting gamers and enterprise users, it aims to provide a versatile experience.
With a focus on enterprise users and PC gamers, the Vive Focus Vision combines powerful features to attract different user groups. Its advanced capabilities cater to the demands of PCVR experiences while also aiming to capture a portion of the casual market dominated by Meta’s Quest headsets.
Shen Ye, Global Head of Product, stated, “Vive Focus Vision offers standalone capabilities combined with DisplayPort mode support for top-notch PCVR experiences.” The headset incorporates eye-tracking technology, stereo color passthrough cameras, depth sensing, and infrared sensors for enhanced hand tracking.
Packed with features, the Vive Focus Vision boasts DisplayPort support, eye tracking, dual 16-megapixel color passthrough cameras, depth sensing, and 5k resolution. The display provides a wide field of view and supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz.
The system also includes upgraded cooling systems to handle intense PCVR sessions and an onboard backup battery for seamless operation when swapping the main battery.
Preorders for the Vive Focus Vision open on Wednesday, with shipping expected to start in mid-October.
