Learning how to take a screenshot on your Chromebook can be quite useful. Whether you want to capture information from a website or save a snapshot of your screen, it’s easy to do with just a few simple keyboard shortcuts. While Windows and macOS users have their own methods, Chromebook users need to follow a slightly different process.
How to capture a full screenshot on a Chromebook
To take a screenshot of your entire screen on a Chromebook, simply press Ctrl + Show windows keys simultaneously.
The Show windows key is usually located in the top row between the Full-Screen and Brightness down buttons. It looks like a rectangle followed by two lines and replaces the typical F5 key found on standard keyboards.
How to upload screenshots to the cloud
After capturing a screenshot, a notification will appear in the bottom-right corner displaying a thumbnail of the screenshot. By selecting the thumbnail, you can access the Downloads folder where all screenshots are stored by default. Chrome OS automatically labels screenshots with the date and time they were taken for easy identification.
If you want to save screenshots to Google Drive or other cloud storage services, follow these steps:
Step 1: Open the Files app and navigate to either Images or Downloads on the left panel.
Step 2: Select the screenshot(s) you want to upload and click the Share button.
Step 3: Choose Save to drive from the drop-down menu to save the screenshot to Google Drive. You can also send screenshots to other accounts like OneDrive and Dropbox.
