VALORANT is known for its high level of competitiveness, which can sometimes lead to bad days where you may feel like quitting the game. However, exiting the game abruptly can result in a temporary ban as it negatively impacts the experience of other players. To avoid this, the best course of action is to surrender the match, which does not impose any bans on you. If this option intrigues you, here is a detailed guide on how to surrender matches in VALORANT.
Additionally, in the event of an AFK ally in the first round of a VALORANT match, you also have the option to remake the game.
How to surrender in a VALORANT match
In order to abandon a match in VALORANT, you must initiate a surrender vote. There are two methods to do this:
- You can use special commands in the chat section such as /surrender, /concede, or /ff to call for a surrender vote.
- Alternatively, you can click on the Surrender button located in the Escape menu below the team volume options.
However, there are some important points to remember before starting a surrender vote:
- A surrender can be requested at any time after the start of the 4th round in both the attack and defense phases.
- If a surrender vote is successful, the next round will be forfeited, ending the match.
- The number of votes required to surrender varies depending on the mode being played.
- In Unrated Mode, 80% of the team must agree to surrender.
- In Ranked mode, a unanimous vote from all team members is needed to surrender.
- Each team is allowed only one surrender attempt per phase.
If you attempt to call for a surrender but someone on your team beat you to it, your surrender vote will not count towards the team’s attempt. Lastly, if you abstain from voting during the surrender phase, the system will interpret it as a NO vote to surrender.
