After years of waiting, Bungie’s highly popular first-person shooter Destiny is finally coming to smartphones. NetEase Games, the developer, has announced the opening of pre-registration for Destiny: Rising. Here’s how you can pre-register:
The Destiny franchise, created by Bungie, the makers of Halo, was born in 2014 and was published by Activision. It introduced the concept of an open-world shooter with a focus on exploration. Due to its immense success, NetEase Games has developed Destiny: Rising for mobile devices under Bungie’s official license. However, Bungie has recently faced challenges with layoffs affecting 220 employees.
Destiny: Rising Release Date
As of now, there is no official release date for Destiny: Rising. Nevertheless, launching on a mobile platform will benefit the existing Destiny player base.
How to Pre-register for Destiny Mobile
NetEase has provided simple steps for users to pre-register for the game:
- Go to the official website by clicking here.
- Click on the ‘Pre-register’ button in the top right corner.
- Fill out the form with your mobile device details (Android or iOS).
- Complete the registration by entering your mobile device details, region, and email address.
- After registration, wait for an email confirmation notification.
It’s important to note that filling out the pre-registration form does not guarantee early access. Instead, you will be part of a pool from which some players will be randomly selected. The first round of the Closed Alpha Test will only be available to players in the USA and Canada initially, with more regions being added later. The first closed beta test is set to start on November 1st.
Unlike the original Destiny franchise, Destiny: Rising explores an alternate Destiny timeline. However, players can still expect familiar heroes and legends in the game. Additionally, there will be campaign missions and six-player co-op strikes similar to the original Destiny.
