Your MMR and Rank are separate entities, with MMR guiding the creation of fair matches without being visible to players. When you enter ranked play or after an Episode reset, the system uses your MMR to estimate your suitable rank.
For instance, if you return to VALORANT after a break, your visible rank may have decayed, but your hidden MMR, reflecting your skill level, remains relatively stable. Consequently, playing matches will align your rank with your actual skill level thanks to MMR.
How to see MMR in VALORANT?
Unfortunately, there is no official method to view your MMR in VALORANT, as it is automatically calculated based on your performance. However, you can estimate your MMR by monitoring your Rank Rating (RR) gains and losses:
- If your MMR exceeds your rank, you gain more RR for wins than you lose for losses
- If your MMR aligns with your rank, RR gains and losses are similar
- If your MMR is lower than your rank, you gain less RR for wins and lose more for losses
Riot Games has stated, “Eventually your Rank will converge very close to your MMR,” indicating that RR will stabilize once your rank aligns with your MMR. Therefore, concentrate on improving your skills to climb the ranked ladder in VALORANT rather than fixating on MMR.
