College students can get a discounted rate of $6/month, and there’s also a Family plan available for $17 per month.
In this guide, we’ll show you how to set up Apple’s Family Sharing feature and add users to your account. By the end, you’ll have multiple family members streaming music under one subscription.
Before you get started
To follow the instructions in this guide, you’ll need an Apple ID and an Apple Music Family subscription. Make sure you choose the Family subscription when setting up Apple Music. If you need to switch from an Individual plan to a Family plan, you can find detailed instructions on the Apple website.
What is Family Sharing?
Family Sharing is a feature that allows you to share content, including Apple Music, across multiple Apple services. For $17 per month, account administrators can host up to six Apple Music users under one subscription. Each user retains their preferences and recommendations.
With purchase sharing enabled, the entire family can share movies, shows, books, and music, as long as the purchasing user approves sharing for other members.
