Fortnite is gearing up for Chapter 5 Season 4, but before it officially arrives, there will be some downtime. Epic Games has moved up the end time for the current season, but this doesn’t mean the transition between seasons will be any quicker.
This downtime period will be relatively long, especially for a transition between seasons that doesn’t involve changing chapters. Usually, massive updates occur when chapters change, with the entire island and theme being revamped. However, for Chapter 5 Season 4, it seems that the tweaks will be significant.
Fortnite Downtime for Chapter 5 Season 4 Revealed
Following the end of Chapter 5 Season 3, there will be approximately five hours of downtime for Fortnite.
While this downtime period may seem lengthy, it is not the longest the game has seen. Events such as the Black Hole event and the transition into Chapter 5 after the Eminem live concert were significantly longer. Leaker ShiinaBR has estimated this downtime duration based on information from Epic, suggesting that players will have to wait for around five hours.
During this downtime, players can explore other games while eagerly anticipating the epic Marvel season that awaits. The trailers and teasers promise exciting items, battle pass skins, and more. The extended downtime is necessary as significant changes to the loot pool and map are expected to be introduced.
When Does Chapter 5 Season 3 End?
Chapter 5 Season 3 will end earlier than initially planned, now concluding on August 15 at 11 pm EST instead of August 16. Players will no longer be able to progress in the battle pass to unlock exclusive items such as the T-60 Power Armor and Megalo Don. Following this, the new Marvel skins and items for Chapter 5 Season 4 will be available in the game after a five-hour downtime period.
