Honor of Kings, one of the world’s most-played mobile games, is now gearing up for a global release. Level Infinite has been gradually announcing the game’s expansion to various regions, with one noticeable exception being India. However, that changed today as the developers officially announced Honor of Kings India, set to launch in June.
Introducing Honor of Kings India
In 2021, a game similar to Arena of Valor called Clash of Titans emerged in Indian app stores. Developed by Actoz SG, this game resembled Arena of Valor but was introduced as a response to the latter being banned in India due to privacy concerns. Actoz SG, a Singapore-based game publisher with ties to China’s Shengqu Games, eventually signed an agreement with Tencent to release its games. This led to speculation that Clash of Titans was essentially an Indian version of Arena of Valor, albeit published by a Singaporean firm to address data privacy issues.
However, Clash of Titans failed to gain significant traction due to limited marketing. Recent developments hint at a change in strategy, with the game’s Instagram account being rebranded to “hokindia.” The first post following this update hints at a June 2024 release for Honor of Kings India.
“Dear challengers, we’re excited to announce that we’re pivoting to Honor of Kings India. Stay tuned for all upcoming news, updates, and Esports invitationals right here on this channel. While we eagerly await the global release in June, we’ll be sharing all game-related info aligned with HOK Global and HOK South Asia,” the Instagram post reads.
It remains to be seen whether Honor of Kings will be launched as a standalone title in India or be integrated into the global version. As of now, Clash of Titans is still accessible for download on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
Release Date and Global Expansion
Level Infinite has already introduced Honor of Kings in various regions like the Middle East, North Africa, Turkey, Eastern Europe, and South Asia (excluding India). The official @hokindia Instagram post hints at a global release in June 2024 and promises to unveil esports details as well. This aligns with the game’s $15 million global esports roadmap.
