Following the announcement of the iPhone 16 series by Apple, the spotlight now shifts to Samsung’s Galaxy S lineup. Recently, Android Headlines unveiled what appears to be the first look at the redesigned Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra.
The upcoming smartphone, expected to debut in January or February, showcases noticeable design changes in line with earlier rumors. One prominent difference is that all four sides of the phone are now flat, distinguishing it from its predecessor, the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
Interestingly, the trend of flat sides on smartphones was recently introduced by Google on the Google Pixel 9, which some claim was inspired by Apple’s iPhone lineup.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra is projected to be lighter than its predecessor and the iPhone 16 Pro Max. With an estimated weight of 219 grams, compared to the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s 232 grams and the latest iPhone’s 227 grams. The decreased weight aligns with the smaller dimensions and reduced bezels expected in the new Galaxy S Ultra model while maintaining a 6.8-inch screen size.
Anticipated camera features for the Galaxy S25 Ultra include a 50-megapixel ultrawide, a primary 200MP camera, and a 10MP 3x telephoto camera.
The upcoming Galaxy S Ultra is predicted to house a 5,000mAh battery and be powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor, although Qualcomm’s official announcement is pending at next month’s Snapdragon Summit.
Expect more details on the Galaxy S25 series in the near future, with Samsung likely to unveil and release the lineup shortly after the new year. The series is anticipated to comprise three models: Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and the aforementioned Galaxy S25 Ultra.
However, there have been rumors suggesting a different approach, hinting at the potential return of the “Galaxy S25 Note” moniker instead of the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
