TechCrunch recently visited HAX’s Newark offices in New Jersey. Despite a long commute, the space reminds them of the HAX offices in Shenzhen, albeit with more space and on-site equipment for startups.
The Newark office, funded in part by $25 million from New Jersey, is 35,000 square feet and equipped with metal fab, 3D printing, and other machinery. It will host HAX’s first demo day in four years, featuring over 30 companies in various sectors.

CocoonCarbon: Develops sustainable cement from steel runoff
PureLi: Speeds up lithium extraction using innovative technology
Renovate Robotics: Automates roofing with a winch-based robot
Silana: Works on automating sewing processes to increase efficiency
Swap Robotics: A robotics company focusing on landscaping solar farms
