Apple has officially announced that the new version of the iPhone operating system, iOS 18, will be available starting September 16, as revealed during the latest iPhone 16 event.
iOS 18, which was first introduced at WWDC 2024, brings a variety of new features. Highlights include customization options for arranging apps and widgets on the Home Screen, customizable buttons, new text effects, app locking and hiding capabilities, enhanced Mail inbox management, iMessages over satellite, a revamped Photos app, and more.
You can currently test the updates through the iOS 18 public beta, but remember to be cautious as beta software may have some limitations.
Which devices support iOS 18?

- iPhone 12 and later models
- iPhone SE (2nd generation or later)
When will iOS 18 be available to download?
The official release of iOS 18 will be on September 16 as a free software update. However, you can access the public beta earlier by downloading it from beta.apple.com.
Note that certain features of iOS 18 may not be available in all countries, languages, or on all devices. For example, the Safari “Highlights” feature will only support English in the U.S., and live audio transcription in the Notes app is limited to certain countries and languages.
Which devices support Apple Intelligence?
Apple Intelligence, the new generative AI feature from Apple, will be integrated into most Apple apps. For optimal performance, the new iPhone 16 models are recommended, but it will also work on iPad and Mac devices with M1 chip and later.
Apple Intelligence will be available in beta this fall.
