Google frequently enhances its Pixel phones through feature drops, providing extra value to users. The latest feature drop includes exciting updates for owners of Google Pixel 7, Pixel 8, and Pixel Fold devices, with some improvements also reaching older models like the Pixel 6 and Pixel 5a.
New features coming to Pixel phones
One standout addition is the Circle to Search feature, initially seen on Samsung’s Galaxy S24 and later making its way to Google Pixel 7, Pixel 8, and possibly Pixel Fold devices. Additionally, support for 10-bit HDR video recording and Ultra HDR photos is now available on Pixel models equipped with Tensor G2 and G3 chips.
Furthermore, the Feature Drop enhances Call Screen functionalities, especially useful for managing Google Assistant interactions during calls. This update applies to Pixel 6 and newer models, with support for Next Gen Call Screen limited to English in the U.S.
The Pixel Watch is getting updates, too
The Pixel Watch receives three new training modes, including Pace Training and Heart Zone Training, plus the addition of Fitbit Relax app. Public transit directions and Google Wallet passes support are also extended to all Wear OS 3 smartwatches.
Other Pixel updates coming soon
The March Pixel Feature Drop includes new features like App Screen Sharing, improved Google FastPair experience, handwritten annotations in Google Docs, and redesigned Gboard Voice Toolbar. These updates will be rolled out internationally, starting next Monday in the U.S.
