Google has recently rolled out the Wear OS 5 update for the Pixel Watch and Pixel Watch 2. However, some users are facing issues with the update. Thankfully, there are potential solutions available.
Reports from Reddit and Google’s support forums suggest that the problem occurs immediately after installing Wear OS 5 on the watch. Some users encounter a blank display with a Bluetooth disconnected icon at the bottom. To resolve this issue, references from Android Police and The Verge suggest performing a fast boot reset. As per Google’s instructions, you can hold down the crown on your watch for 3 seconds, then scroll down and tap “Restart.”
If the previous solution doesn’t work, you can try a hard reset by pressing and holding the watch crown and side button simultaneously for about 20 seconds. After this, you should see the Google logo on the screen. If issues persist, TechRadar recommends a reset from FastBoot, though this process may be complex.
If you haven’t updated your Pixel Watch or Pixel Watch 2 to Wear OS 5 yet, it might be wise to wait for Google to release a fix. Given that this seems to be a widespread issue impacting many Pixel users, a solution can be expected soon.
