Google has announced a range of new Pixel-related features for phones, tablets, and watches. These include 10-bit video support for Instagram, expanding the Circle to search feature, automatic workout detection on the original Pixel watch, and selective app screening for multiple Pixel devices.
Pixel Phone Updates
Users can now capture and upload 10-bit HDR videos on Instagram and share Ultra HDR images. This feature is available for Pixel models 7, 7 Pro, 8, 8 Pro, and Pixel Fold.
Google has introduced improvements like conversation mode to its call screening feature. The new Pixel Drop includes a “Hello” chip to prompt the Google Assistant to interact with the caller. Additionally, the assistant can ask the caller to pause if the call cannot be answered immediately.
Pixel Watch Updates
Google is rolling out Pace training and Heart Zone training features for the original Pixel Watch to enhance user training experiences. These features use GPS and motion sensors to monitor pace range deviations and heart rate ranges during workouts.
Automatic workout start and stop detection is now available on the first-gen Pixel Watch. The Fitbit Relax app for guided breathing exercises and mindfulness has also been released for both Pixel Watches.
Portfolio Updates
A new update will enable the sharing of a specific app’s screen during a video call for devices like the Pixel 5a, Pixel Tablet, and Pixel Fold.
Furthermore, users can quickly pair a previously used FastPair-compatible Bluetooth accessory to a new device through subsequent pairing features. The Pixel Tablet and Pixel 8 models now support annotating documents using a stylus or finger, with the Pixel Tablet also receiving a feature that shrinks the keyboard size during voice input.
