- Goddess of Victory: Nikke will feature its “biggest minigame ever” in collaboration with Dave the Diver
- The event starts on July 4th with unlockable weapons available through the Nikke Armoury
Shift Up’s shooter RPG, Goddess of Victory: Nikke, is gearing up for its “biggest minigame ever” with an exciting crossover featuring Dave the Diver on July 4th.
Players can expect a deep-sea diving and exploration experience in pixel graphics within Nikke, as the game will introduce its own fully developed game mode inspired by Dave the Diver – a popular console and PC/Mac game making its mobile debut.
More than just a “mini” game
In this new event, Nikke players will embark on underwater expeditions, collecting ingredients and engaging in fish-catching activities for the game’s resident chef, Blancho. Dave the Diver, created by Mintrocket, combines action-adventure and management gameplay elements as players navigate the depths of the ocean to gather ingredients for a sushi restaurant, all while encountering and battling sharks.
Although players won’t be able to control Dave the Diver’s main character, they can expect to see Nikke characters Mast and Anchor in scuba gear, with Anchor being available as a login reward. Additionally, the Nikke Armoury offers unlockable weapons that can be obtained by meeting specific requirements, such as completing underwater missions a certain number of times.
This limited-time event will provide Nikke fans with a taste of Dave the Diver’s gameplay, encouraging them to explore the full experience on PC or console with Mintrocket’s title.
Mintrocket, a subsidiary of South Korean games publisher Nexon, revealed publicly in May 2022, has seen success with the release of Dave the Diver, initially launching in early access and later fully releasing in 2023.
The inclusion of this newer IP in Goddess of Victory: Nikke showcases the popularity of Mintrocket’s title, joining other successful crossover collaborations such as NieR Automata, Re:ZERO, and Chainsaw Man.
For Shift Up, the appearance of Dave the Diver marks another exciting collaboration in its shooter game, which has surpassed the $750 million revenue milestone on mobile platforms alone.
