Gigabyte recently confirmed support for the upcoming next-gen AMD CPUs in a press release, referring to them as the “AMD Ryzen 9000 series processors.” This announcement follows previous BIOS updates from MSI and Asus, but with a unique naming convention and dedicated press release from Gigabyte.
AMD has also stated that the Ryzen 9000 CPUs will be compatible with all current AM5 motherboards, requiring only a BIOS update for AGESA 1.1.7.0 to utilize the new processors seamlessly.

The timing of these BIOS updates hints at an earlier release date for the Ryzen 9000 CPUs than initially anticipated. With Computex 2024 approaching, many speculate that AMD may reveal more details about the Zen 5 CPUs at the event, including a flagship chip with 16 Zen 5 cores.
It is rumored that the Ryzen 9000 series will follow the pattern of previous generations with options like Ryzen 9 9950X and Ryzen 7 9700X. Additionally, AMD plans to release Zen 5 CPUs featuring 3D V-Cache technology at a later date.
