The Turkish competitive gaming platform Gamer Arena has recently secured an investment from Domino Ventures, resulting in a $6 million valuation.
Gamer Arena offers players the opportunity to compete in various video games either one-on-one or in teams, enabling them to showcase their skills and versatility.
With a focus on esports tournaments, the platform utilizes the blockchain-based GAU Token to enhance the gaming experience. This cryptocurrency’s utility is expected to expand further with the recent investment.
Competing for rewards
Gamer Arena currently hosts tournaments in over 30 games across different platforms such as PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and mobile. Popular titles on the platform include EA Sports FC Mobile, Hoop Shot, Brick Smasher, and Flip Ride.
Players can earn GA Coins by winning games in tournaments or by playing self-developed games, as reported by Mobidictum. The platform has already attracted over 500,000 members.
Key partners of Gamer Arena include Krafton, Atari, and The Sandbox. With the recent investment from Domino Ventures, the platform plans to invest in new AI-based products, aligning itself with the latest trends in the gaming industry – Web3 and AI.
The upcoming AI products will be integrated into the GAU Token infrastructure, with a GAU Token AI Image Generator Tool set to launch next week, as announced on Twitter.
Domino Ventures’ decision to invest in a Turkey-based gaming platform reflects its enthusiasm for the industry. The Dutch VC fund has a history of supporting startups in Central Asia, Eastern Europe, and Turkey, with offices in multiple countries.
Prior to this investment, Domino Ventures has supported mobile game maker njoyKidz in developing educational games for children. The fund’s current focus is on AI, gaming, and Web3 companies, all of which Gamer Arena encompasses.
Recently, former Homa employees raised $1.5 million in pre-seed funding for the user-generated content platform PlayMakers.
