Day of Doom, the latest limited-time mode in Fortnite, pays homage to the classic Avengers Endgame mode from 2019. This time, players can take on the roles of Doctor Doom and his Doombots or the Avengers Allies. The mode operates similarly to the Endgame mode and has been incredibly popular since its recent launch.
While the mode has seen great success, Epic Games has already released an update specifically for Day of Doom to address some issues. The update included nerfs and buffs to various aspects of the mode to enhance gameplay.
Fortnite Adjustments to Day of Doom LTM
Day of Doom has quickly become one of the most popular LTMs in Fortnite, drawing on the excitement of a mode like the one introduced for Avengers: Endgame. Epic Games wasted no time in making changes to ensure the mode runs smoothly until its scheduled end next month. Here are the adjustments made by Epic:
- Heroes’ Max Shield increased from 100 to 200
- Shield Regeneration Cap raised from 50 to 150
- Mythic Shockwave cooldown increased from seven seconds to 12 seconds
- Doom’s Lightning Ball cooldown extended from eight seconds to 12 seconds
Some players found it challenging to win as the Avengers team, prompting Epic Games to tweak the gameplay to balance the experience. The Doom team must collect artifacts of Pandora’s Box to transform into Doctor Doom, similar to the Thanos Gauntlet mechanic in the Endgame mode.
