The latest Fortnite update has brought some significant changes to the game, including updates to content that may resurface in the future, such as the Fortnite Getaway LTM.
While updates typically focus on new content that becomes live on the island, they also serve to prepare older content for a comeback. This includes fixing and aligning the content with the current game so that it can be reintroduced seamlessly. Recently, there has been more activity surrounding LTMs in particular.
Previously, Epic had excluded Fortnite LTMs from updates, but in the current Chapter, three seasons have featured new LTMs. It appears that the Getaway LTM could be the next one to return. So, how does this mode operate?
Getaway Fortnite LTM
According to Fortnite leakers, the Getaway Fortnite LTM has undergone some changes. While this mode existed in previous Fortnite seasons, it has been absent for some time. The objective of the mode is to steal a Jewel and then make a getaway, hence the name. Successfully escaping with the Jewel results in a Victory Royale.
Getaway was an early mode featuring getaway vehicles before vehicles became prominent in Fortnite. This suggests that the mode may require significant reworking to align with the current version of the game. Recent LTM comebacks have undergone significant adjustments, including taking place on a different map and having their weapons replaced with current ones. Considering the introduction of vehicles in the game, the revamped Getaway LTM could offer a more exciting gameplay experience compared to its previous iteration.
Currently, the Horde Rush LTM is active in the game and is likely to remain until the end of the Fortnite season. The potential return of Getaway may occur after this season, introducing a new map and a fresh selection of weapons to the mode.
