Skybound Entertainment, the multimedia entertainment company, has brought Jeff Chaiken on board as the senior vice president and head of corporate development and strategy. This comes after Chaiken spent nine years at Electronic Arts, where he held the same position in corporate development and strategy. With his extensive experience in media and entertainment strategy, partnerships, and M&A, Chaiken is expected to play a pivotal role in the company’s worldwide expansion.
Known for its founder Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead series and superhero comic series Invincible, Skybound also established Skybound Games and Skybound Stories in 2018. The company’s expansion has prompted the hire of Chaiken, who has a proven track record in acquisition, including handling EA’s acquisition of Respawn Entertainment and Codemasters’ racing games.
Chaiken’s expertise also extends to mobile app recruitment and platform enhancement, making him a valuable addition to Skybound. In his new role, he will navigate partnerships, global initiatives, fundraising, and more. In response to his appointment, Chaiken highlighted the company’s impressive global growth and its potential for further expansion.
Ned Sherman, Skybound Entertainment’s chief business affairs and legal officer, expressed excitement about bringing Chaiken on board and signaled the company’s proactive search for more deals. The appointment reflects Skybound’s commitment to growth in the entertainment industry.
Metacore also recently appointed its new CTO in the first key hire for its Berlin studio.
