Black Salt Games’ horror fishing RPG Dredge is set to release on iOS and Mac on December 18th, 2024.
The studio based in New Zealand also aims to release the game on the Google Play Store on the same day. However, there is no pre-order listing yet due to issues with ownership rights, as stated by Dredge developer Joel Mason.
According to the developer, the confusion seems to be related to FunPlus’ Sea of Conquest.
A free demo will be available on Apple devices later this year for players to try before purchasing, with the full game requiring a one-time fee on each platform.
Eurogamer’s report mentions that access to Dredge’s DLC will be through in-app purchases.
Exploring the Cosmic Depths
Dredge achieved success on PC and consoles last year for its unique blend of maritime exploration and Lovecraftian cosmic horror. Players are sent to an open-world archipelago teeming with eerie creatures to catch.
The game’s day-night cycle introduces different challenges and intensifies the horror elements. Players also face micromanagement tasks, as their boat has limited space for the day’s catch. Upgrades can expand the boat’s capacity and durability.
The mobile version of Dredge offers various quests, a mysterious plot, and the opportunity to catch over 125 deep sea creatures.
“Exciting news for the Steam forums community as Dredge heads to Mac, iOS, and Android on December 18th,” Mason shared on Twitter.
“Both Android and iOS versions will be premium purchases for the full game, but iOS and Mac users will have access to a demo.”
