Nintendo is gradually revealing more details about The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, a new series installment that allows players to primarily control Princess Zelda for the first time. In a recent trailer release, the company shared insights into the various areas players will explore, the methods of traversal across the map, and a new ability called Bind.
The Bind ability in Echoes of Wisdom bears similarities to some of Link’s abilities in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. It enables Zelda to grab onto objects and creatures in the world and manipulate them as she moves. Additionally, there is a Reverse Bond feature that allows players to move alongside a bound creature, enabling unique travel options like flying with a bird.
Another showcased ability in the trailer is Echoes, which allows players to create copies of objects within the game world.
The trailer also highlighted diverse areas for exploration, such as Jabul Waters, where Sea Zora and River Zora are in conflict for unexplained reasons, including the presence of underwater dungeons. The Faron Wetlands area is populated with Deku Scrubs known for their sweet tooth.
In terms of travel options, players have access to waypoints that can be unlocked throughout the world for map warping. Additionally, a horse can be summoned using a carrot to traverse areas faster and defeat weaker enemies.
An intriguing addition to the game is smoothie shops run by business scrubs, where players can blend ingredients for various effects, similar to cooking mechanics in previous Zelda titles. Furthermore, players can acquire different outfits for Zelda that provide buffs.
While Nintendo is keeping many details under wraps, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is set for release on September 26 for the Nintendo Switch, promising more information to come soon.
