Like many gamers, I’m eagerly diving into The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom this weekend. It’s not often I share personal preferences in this space, but the excitement around this game is infectious. Nintendo’s Ask the Developer interview series provided fascinating insights into the development process, with contributions from series producer Eiji Aonuma, director Satoshi Terada of partner studio Grezzo, and director Tomomi Sano from Nintendo’s side.
Sano, a seasoned industry professional, stands out as the first woman to direct a mainline Zelda title. The game’s evolution from a make-your-own dungeon experience to a creative problem-solving adventure under her guidance makes it even more compelling. With such a talented team behind it, Echoes of Wisdom has become my top choice for gaming this weekend.
The week brought a flurry of gaming news. The State of Play event unveiled the visually stunning Ghost of Yotei and the Horizon Zero Dawn remaster. Ubisoft’s announcements, including the delay of the next Assassin’s Creed game and financial challenges with Star Wars Outlaws, added more drama to an already eventful week.
