- Dungeon & Fighter Mobile generated $270 million in revenue on iOS in its first month in China
- This contributed to a 12% increase in mobile games revenue for Tencent last month
Nexon and Tencent’s Dungeon & Fighter Mobile had an impressive debut month in China, earning $270 million on iOS, surpassing the earnings of Honor of Kings during the same period. According to Sensor Tower data reported by Bloomberg, the game was the most downloaded and top-grossing in China during its first 30 days, reaching $100 million in just 10 days.
This success led to a significant increase in Tencent’s mobile games revenue last month.
Game Background
Dungeon & Fighter Mobile, a mobile adaptation of Nexon’s popular series, debuted in South Korea in 2022 and was published in China by Tencent after overcoming regulatory hurdles. Despite being removed from Android app stores due to license expiration, the game has thrived in the region, particularly on iOS.
Looking ahead, Sensor Tower’s Nan Lu noted that the game’s current success and future performance rely heavily on Tencent’s strategies and updates to maintain player interest and sustain popularity.
Furthermore, Nexon, which faced a revenue decline earlier this year, anticipates Dungeon & Fighter Mobile to have a positive impact on its financial performance.
In a positive development for Nexon, fifteen overseas licenses, including popular titles like Valorant, Mario, and Pokémon, were approved for launch in China in May.
