As the latest installment in the $22 billion Dungeon & Fighter franchise, Dungeon & Fighter: Mobile has demonstrated the Chinese mobile gaming market’s appetite for this 19-year-old brand, filling the void left by Dungeon & Fighter: Spirit which closed in 2017.
The game has been immensely successful in China, with Nexon and Tencent collectively earning an average of $6.5 million per day in revenue from Dungeon & Fighter: Mobile. On its most successful day, June 22nd, the game made an impressive $9.9 million.
In its first month, Dungeon & Fighter: Mobile achieved $500 million in player spending in China and was projected to reach over $2 billion this year. While the revenue growth has slowed, it still managed to earn an additional $300 million in the following three months.
Despite a slight decline in September, with daily revenue rarely surpassing $5 million, even on a slower day like September 17th, the game still brought in over $1.9 million.
Despite facing delays in China due to strict government regulations on the video game market, Dungeon & Fighter: Mobile was highly anticipated and upon release, its first month on iOS brought in double the revenue of Tencent’s flagship game Honor of Kings.
