Exciting news for PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers: The 1999 classic Dino Crisis is set to be available for free starting October 15.
Developed by Capcom and overseen by Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami, Dino Crisis involves a unique dinosaur-filled survival horror experience, combining action, puzzles, and a retro Resident Evil feel. To access the game, subscribers will need to opt for the highest PS Plus tier since it will be part of the Classics catalog. The game has received a remaster treatment, including up-rendering, custom video filters, rewind, and quick save features.
Despite its last installment being released in 2003, Dino Crisis remains a beloved title that captures the essence of its time. With the success of Resident Evil remakes and Capcom’s release of Exoprimal (which serves as a spiritual successor to Dino Crisis), there is a renewed interest in revisiting the game.
Sony’s recent State of Play announced the arrival of Dino Crisis and Blood Omen: Legacy Of Kain to its subscription service. Although no specific date has been set for the addition of Legacy of Kain, it is expected to happen shortly.
On October 15, PlayStation Plus subscribers can look forward to other horror games perfect for the spooky season. Titles like The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me, Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed, and Dead Island 2 will provide a variety of chilling experiences. Additionally, Siren, a PS2 survival horror game from the director of Silent Hill, has also been enhanced with similar upgrades as Dino Crisis.
