Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster was given a release date of September 19 during the Capcom Next: Summer 2024 showcase this evening.
Capcom made a strong presence in this summer’s live streams with games like Monster Hunter Wilds, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, and Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics. It was a surprise when Capcom announced Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster on June 26. The teaser provided limited information but confirmed the remaster’s existence and revealed a redesigned Frank West. Fans were directed to tune into the Capcom Next showcase to learn more, and it turned out to be the second game featured during the event.
At its core, Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster promises to deliver a similar experience to the original Dead Rising, where players create weapons from materials found around a mall to survive and escape a zombie horde and hostile enemies for 72 hours. The remaster includes revamped visuals, new gameplay features like moving while aiming, visual filters for camera pictures, and auto-save functionality.
The announcement trailer description confirms support for 4K and 3D audio, running at 60 frames per second with updated character models. User interface and NPC AI in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster have also been enhanced to make the game more accessible to new players, while retaining the original’s timer-based gameplay mechanics. The game will be available for play sooner than expected.
Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster will be digitally released for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on September 19 at a price of $50. A physical version will follow in November, along with a $60 digital deluxe edition featuring 17 additional costumes for Frank West and background music tracks for the shopping mall. Preorders will offer costumes based on Frank West from the original 2006 game, Chuck Greene from Dead Rising 2, and the Willamette Parkview Mall Bee.
During the Capcom Next livestream, details about Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, set for release on July 19, were revealed. A free demo is available, and the game will include crossover items from Okami. Additionally, Resident Evil 7 biohazard for iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPad, and Mac is scheduled for release on July 2.
