While dating sims are a popular video game genre, they often limit who you can romance to other people. However, a new indie game called Date Everything! is looking to change that.
Recently announced and available to wishlist on Steam, Date Everything! is described as a “sandbox” dating sim where you can pursue romantic relationships with around 100 objects inside your home. These objects include things like your toaster, laundry hamper, toilet, vacuum, fridge, and dumbbells, providing a diverse array of options. Each object has “at least” three different endings, adding depth to the gameplay.
In the game, magic glasses called dateviators bring the objects in your home to life, turning them into characters you can date. It’s a unique and quirky concept that promises a fun and engaging experience for players.
While no release date has been confirmed yet, Date Everything! is set to launch on PC and consoles, offering a lighthearted and unconventional approach to dating sims.
Many of the objects featured in the trailer have clever pun-filled names, adding a humorous touch to the gameplay. For example, your vacuum is named “Hoover” and your piano is called “Keyes.”
Developed by Sassy Chap Games and published by Team17, Date Everything! is the debut title from a studio founded by voice actors Ray Chase, Robbie Daymond, Max Mittelman, and Amanda Hufford. Featuring a talented cast of voice actors, including industry veterans like Sung-Won Cho, Zeno Robinson, Laura Bailey, and more, the game promises a fully voice-acted experience.
While dating sims typically focus on human relationships, Date Everything! takes a different approach by allowing players to date inanimate objects. This unconventional theme adds a fresh and innovative twist to the genre, following in the footsteps of other unique titles like Hatoful Boyfriend and Boyfriend Dungeon.
