Finally, after much anticipation and a bit of confusion about the release date, Crownfall Act III has arrived. The update dropped around 4pm PDT, coinciding with the end of the workday at Valve’s Seattle offices. This update is a significant one, packed with exciting new content.
In addition to introducing a new map for Crownfall Act III, Valve has added a fun Street Fighter parody game called Sleet Fighter II to embrace the wintry theme of the update. Players can also enjoy 16 new Collector’s Cache Sets, which were voted for by the community earlier in the year. Not to mention, a new installment in the Crownfall saga in the form of a comic.
The standout feature of the update is the Sleet Fighter II game, which offers full controller support, multiple characters, and multiplayer mode. It’s a nostalgic throwback to classic fighting games like Street Fighter, providing endless entertainment for players.
The newly added Collector’s Cache Sets showcase high-quality designs, with fan-favorite submissions making the cut. Notable sets include Ardalan Arms Race Snapfire and the striking Ultra Rare Aberrant Observer Pudge. Players also have the chance to unlock the Fem Anti-Mage persona with the Proselyte of the Sakura Clan set.
Furthermore, the updated Crownfall board features stunning pixel art, highlighting the frost-covered landscape of Icewrack. Exploring this terrain unveils hidden secrets, intricate animations, and additional details. Two new Pathfinder quests, The Lost Ziggurat and the Call of Ugnattu, are available through the Icewrack Pathfinder Pack.
Valve continues to impress with their innovative updates, surpassing expectations with each Crownfall release. The extended duration of the event until October allows players ample time to fully immerse themselves in the content, even during the highly anticipated TI13 event. With the next Crownfall expansion likely arriving in late August, there’s plenty of time to collect tokens and prepare for the final showdown with Queen Imperia.
