Game studio nWay, a division of Animoca Brands, has launched the beta for Cosmic Bomber, a casual multiplayer action game that is reminiscent of Bomberman meets Web3.
The web and PC game is the latest addition to Mocaverse’s social gamification hub Cosmic Club. The beta of Cosmic Bomber is now exclusively available to the 1.79 million Moca ID holders at this link. nWay also released Olympics Go! Paris 2024, the official video game for the Olympic Games Paris 2024 in June.
Cosmic Bomber is a Bomberman-style action-maze game where players strategically place explosive magic balloons to outsmart and eliminate rival teams. As players navigate through diverse blocks, they can unlock special items to boost their chances of victory. The game offers real-time multiplayer competition, ownership of unique characters, and an innovative hybrid economy allowing players to earn, spend, and sell.
Leadership change
The developer of the game, nWay, is known for its action and fighting games. After the departure of founder Taehoon Kim, co-CEOs Kristen Salvatore and Steve Kuroki took over. Salvatore discussed Cosmic Bomber, which is a smaller-scale project compared to Wreck League, focusing on a different gameplay style.
Salvatore and Kuroki found success in their collaboration, aiming to create engaging games suitable for various gaming communities. Cosmic Bomber caters to a more casual audience compared to Wreck League, providing quick and fun gameplay experiences.
The free-to-play game will eventually introduce in-game tokens for players to engage with the economy while maintaining a focus on creating enjoyable experiences. nWay plans to expand the game to iOS and Android platforms while adhering to Web3 guidelines.
