Remedy Entertainment has unveiled its first multiplayer game, FBC: Firebreak, set in the Federal Bureau of Control in 2025.
In this standalone experience, not a sequel to Control, players will engage in a three-player, PvE co-op first-person shooter. The game was previewed during October’s Xbox Partner Preview, showcasing a group of individuals battling the Hiss outbreak within the FBC.
These individuals possess no supernatural powers, relying on heavy weapons, improvised armor, and gear to combat the Hiss and other adversaries. While set in the Control world, players do not need prior knowledge of the game to enjoy FBC: Firebreak.
Communications director Thomas Puha described the game as easy to get into, offering multiple co-op missions for players to enjoy with their friends. But for those familiar with the Control lore, FBC: Firebreak will provide more depth and insight.
Game director Mike Kayatta emphasized that CBC: Firebreak delves deeper into the history and lore of Control, offering a fresh perspective on the world. Additionally, Remedy showcased gameplay for Alan Wake 2‘s expansion, The Lake House, set in an FBC research station.
The studio is expanding its connected universe with more games in the works set in the world of Control. With sequels like Heron and Condor on the horizon, Remedy is committed to exploring new narratives and experiences within this universe.
