Recently, when it was announced that PlayStation’s live-service hero shooter, Concord, would be offline just two weeks after launch, the fate of the Concord episode of the upcoming Amazon show Secret Level became a point of discussion.
A source close to production confirmed to Digital Trends that the Concord episode is still set to air during the anthology show’s first season, despite the game’s unavailability. A second life for Concord awaits inside the show, scheduled to premiere on December 10.
Secret Level is an animated anthology show inspired by video games, created by Tim Miller, the showrunner of Love, Death & Robots. It features episodes based on various video games, including Armored Core, Crossfire, Pac-Man, The Outer Worlds, and brands like PlayStation and Warhammer 40,000.
While Concord has a minor role in the teaser trailer, viewers catch a glimpse of the character Star Child at around the 1:16 mark.
The announcement coincides with Concord going offline. Developer Firewalk Studios stated that the game would be temporarily unavailable to assess the way forward. Refunds were promised to players. With commitments to three seasons of updates, the integration of Concord into Secret Level could potentially boost its profile.
