Clove is the newest agent to join the ranks of VALORANT, creating quite a buzz in ranked matches around the globe. Players have been eager to unlock Clove and see which professional player will be the first to test out its abilities. However, before Clove could be used in VCT tournaments worldwide, it was temporarily disabled. Let’s explore the reasons behind this decision and when we can expect to see Clove in action in the various VCT Leagues.
Why Was Clove Disabled in VCT?
Clove, the 25th agent in VALORANT, has quickly become a favorite among fans for its unique abilities, especially its self-reviving capability. This has led to a high pick rate in ranked matches, as it supports a more aggressive playstyle at crucial moments in the game.
According to an official statement from VALORANT:
“Due to a bug discovered with Clove, the agent’s eligibility for International League competition has been temporarily suspended. The agent was originally set to debut in Week 2 of Stage 1.”
The bug specifically affects Clove’s ultimate ability, “Not Dead Yet,” which allows Clove to self-revive upon death. However, the bug prevents Clove from returning with their primary weapon, leaving them stuck with only their secondary weapon.
While Week 2 of the VCT Leagues is approaching, Clove won’t be available due to this bug. Fans are left wondering when the agent will be cleared for use in VCT tournaments. Speculation suggests that Clove may become legal towards the end of the group stage or during the playoff phase of the VCT Leagues. Alternatively, VALORANT might make Clove active just before the VCT Masters Shanghai event, starting on May 24th.
