Google is expanding its Circle to Search feature, previously exclusive to Samsung Galaxy devices, to more Pixel models. Circle to Search allows users to circle or scribble items on the screen and initiate a Google search for more information. The feature debuted on the Galaxy S24 series and quickly made its way to the Pixel 8 lineup. Now, Google has announced that it will be available on the Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, and Pixel 7a. The rollout is currently in progress, so users should expect to receive the update soon after ensuring that their Google app is up to date.
Furthermore, Google confirmed that Circle to Search will soon be introduced to the Google Pixel Fold and Google Pixel Tablet. This expansion follows Samsung’s recent implementation of the feature on its latest devices through the One UI 6.1 update.
In addition to expanding the supported devices, Google has announced a new capability for Circle to Search. Users viewing content in a foreign language can now use the feature to instantly translate the text with a dedicated translation button. This feature will be rolled out in the coming weeks.
