Teams preparing for LoL Worlds 2024 will have the opportunity to utilize the Champions Queue to enhance their practice sessions.
Champions Queue at Worlds 2024
The reintroduction of the Champions Queue was announced by Karmine Corp’s LEC assistant coach Žiga “Apples” Jereb, just before the beginning of the Worlds play-in stage. All teams that have qualified for Worlds will be able to participate in this special queue.
The Champions Queue was first introduced in North America in 2022 and was globally implemented during the League of Legends 2022 World Championship. This invite-only system provides pros and high-elo players with a structured environment for practice matches, utilizing a different elo system to monitor performance. The system was also utilized during the 2023 MSI in Europe, held in London.
This system aims to elevate the quality of games by bringing together pros and high-elo players with a strong competitive mentality, enhancing the overall gameplay experience for all participants.
Players Eligible for Champions Queue
- Worlds 2024 players (including substitutes)
- LEC starting players
- ERL players and LEC substitutes who are currently ranked Challenger on live servers in 2024
- Players from Worlds-qualifying leagues participating in a bootcamp in EMEA
- ERL players and former pros approved by the EMEA CQ player council
- Former pro players who have competed in at least two splits of a region that qualified for Worlds 2024
