When thinking about commerce platforms, the first big names that come to mind are Adobe Commerce and Salesforce Commerce Cloud. Large companies processing millions of orders have solutions to manage their operations, but small companies handling $5 million to $20 million in sales volume per year lack a tool that fits their scale. This is where a French startup called Catalog comes in.
Catalog aims to provide a software-as-a-service product that effectively manages B2B sales across multiple channels for companies with revenue ranging from $5 to $100 million per year. By tightly integrating with the existing tech stack of target companies that manage B2B activities in their ERP, Catalog eliminates the need to duplicate functions already available in ERPs.
Catalog offers various channels of support, including an online portal for direct product selection, as well as tools for a sales team to access catalogs, view orders, and check prices for customers who prefer a personalized approach.
A marketing opportunity
Catalog also serves as a marketing platform for existing customers, allowing companies to run sales campaigns and target customer segments for potential orders. Unlike B2C platforms like Shopify, Catalog focuses on B2B companies, providing a unique marketing tool for activation campaigns and sales improvement.
The start-up just secured a funding round of €3 million, with LocalGlobe leading the investment. Catalog plans to expand its services to include features like payment reconciliation, customer support integrations, and onboarding optimization to cater specifically to small and medium-sized businesses in the manufacturing and commerce sectors.
