Campfire has raised $3.95 million in a seed funding round for its generative AI game engine dubbed Sprites.
Sprites allows developers to build AI agents with memory and emotions, enabling them to engage in conversations with users and accompany them on online adventures. This innovation aims to personalize and enhance games, interactive media, and consumer apps.
Campfire has integrated this technology into its game, Cozy Friends, which serves as a showcase for AI-native gaming. The company views the AI tech as a significant advancement in gaming, comparable to the impact of 3D graphics.
The company’s co-founder, Siamak Freydoonnejad, describes Campfire as offering an all-in-one GenAI platform, empowering the creation of AI-native life simulation games. Cozy Friends will be available on both Steam for PC and iOS for mobile platforms.
