Bluesky, a social network, has introduced a new feature called “Starter Pack,” allowing users to curate a list of people and custom feeds to follow, aimed at helping new users discover engaging content from the start.
Existing users can create a starter pack by adding accounts and custom feeds and then share the link or QR code with individuals who are not yet on Bluesky.
By clicking on the shared link, individuals can sign up for Bluesky and automatically follow the suggested accounts and feeds, though they have the option to join without following these suggestions.
Currently, users can add up to 50 accounts and three custom feeds to their starter pack.
Although starter packs are not searchable, users can access them through shared links or posts containing the starter pack link.
When viewing a starter pack on desktop, users can see the recommended accounts, feeds, and posts, while mobile users will be directed to the sign-up page.
Bluesky’s latest app version also includes the ability to restrict conversation replies retroactively, allowing users control over who can respond. Additionally, users can explore new feeds through search and discovery features.
Recent updates to Bluesky also include direct messaging functionality and options to personalize the discover feed based on user feedback using “Show more like this” and “Show less like this” buttons.
