Microsoft and Bethesda have officially announced that Hi-Fi Rush will be available on the PS5 next month, marking the game’s expansion to more platforms.
Speculation about Hi-Fi Rush going multiplatform started in January, prompting discussions about a shift in Microsoft’s first-party strategy. While Xbox addressed these concerns on a podcast on February 15, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer did not confirm that Hi-Fi Rush was one of the games, teasing only that four games were going multiplatform and that announcements were imminent. During the Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase, it was revealed that Obsidian Entertainment’s Pentiment and Grounded would be coming to Nintendo Switch on February 22 and April 16, respectively.
Later in the day, a video confirming the March 18 PS5 release of Hi-Fi Rush was posted by Bethesda LATAM but was quickly switched to private. For those unfamiliar with the game, it was initially released in January 2023 for PC and Xbox Series X/S. Hi-Fi Rush is an action-rhythm game inspired by titles like Devil May Cry, where players must fight to the beat of the game’s soundtracks. The game received positive reviews following its surprise launch, with a four-and-a-half star rating and described as “a new blueprint for rhythm-action games.”
The PS5 version is expected to include all post-launch content, offering a complete edition of Hi-Fi Rush. The game is currently available on PC and Xbox Series X/S, and if the now-private video is accurate, it will be available on PS5 on March 18.
