“Collaborating with Look North World to bring Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance to life as a game within Fortnite has been a fantastic experience,” said Karim Farghaly, senior vice president of corporate development at Bandai Namco Entertainment America.
Farghaly added, “Their ability to create engaging games for millions of fans on Creator Platforms like Fortnite is limitless. Adapting the upcoming Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance anime into an exciting Team Deathmatch game showcases the power of Unreal Engine and the creativity of Look North World. Gundam fans can look forward to starting their Fortnite battles soon.”
Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance, debuting on Netflix on Oct. 17, was entirely animated within Unreal Engine 5. Look North World utilized officially licensed assets to craft a new Team Deathmatch experience within Fortnite.
During gameplay, players will enhance their faction’s Mobile Suits by earning points and assists for their team. Once powered up, a pilot is selected from each team to unleash the formidable power of their team’s Mobile Suit, such as the Gundam EX for the EFSF or the ZAKU II (Unidentified Type) Solari for the Zeon forces, aiding their teams in victory.
“By developing Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance within UEFN, we merge the familiar team-based and competitive gameplay of Fortnite with the essence of Gundam,” said Seropian, CEO of Look North World. “This approach allows us to deliver a distinctive, social, and entertaining experience to all Fortnite players. We’re thrilled to collaborate with Bandai Namco Entertainment to bring the iconic Gundam universe to life in this interactive format.”
The Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance game will be accessible on all platforms where Fortnite is available, including PC, consoles, and Android phones, shortly after the series debuts on Netflix on Oct. 17.
