Baldur’s Gate 3 has once again emerged victorious, receiving the Game of the Year Award at the Game Developers Choice Awards during the Game Developers Conference (GDC) ceremony. Additionally, Visai Games’ 2023 release, Venba, captured the prestigious Seumas McNally Grand Prize for Best Independent Game at the Independent Games Festival (IGF) Awards.
Larian Studio’s RPG also nabbed three other awards, including best narrative and design categories. Tears of the Kingdom received an innovation award, while Alan Wake and Hi-Fi Rush were recognized for their visual art and audio achievements, respectively.
Among the evening’s winners was the Nuovo Award at the IGF Awards, which celebrates games that push boundaries and challenge traditional gaming norms, with Anthology of the Killer taking the prize.
Renowned composer Yoko Shimomura, known for her work on games like Kingdom Hearts, Legend of Mana, and Parasite Eve, was honored with a lifetime achievement award.
