Arkadium announced today that it is celebrating International Chess Day on July 20 with the launch of a new game: Multiplayer Chess Online. This game, available on PC and mobile devices through Arkadium’s online platform, allows players to compete with others globally on the chess board. It will be accessible on Arkadium’s site without the need for downloads this upcoming weekend.
Multiplayer Chess Online features public and private matches with eleven difficulty levels from trivial to grandmaster. Players have the option for coded rooms for friends or Local Play for local matchups. The Rooms feature enables players to watch other matches and improve their gameplay by observing public games if they can’t participate.
Dan Butchko, Arkadium’s director of developer relations, shared in an interview with GamesBeat, “We developed Multiplayer Chess Online to cater to a diverse range of chess players, from enthusiasts to beginners. Our goal is to offer chess fans the opportunity to challenge friends and competitors worldwide in quick and seamless two-player matches – no installations or delays. Plus, with our large player base, you can easily find someone to play with.”
Butchko highlighted that Multiplayer Chess Online complements Arkadium’s existing Chess Online game by providing a multiplayer experience with robust features. “Our new game offers the classic thrill of chess in an elegant and straightforward manner, free to play anytime, anywhere, and with anyone,” he added.
