Apple has announced its annual fall event, showcasing the new iPhone 16, an updated version of the AirPods Max, and the all-new AirPods 4 lineup. While they are referred to as “low-end,” the AirPods 4 actually come in two models, with the more expensive one featuring active noise cancellation, a first for the non-Pro AirPods line. This is made possible by the new H2 processor, along with features like transparency mode and adaptive audio.
The AirPods 4 without ANC are priced at $129, while the ANC version costs $179, offering a more affordable option compared to the AirPods Pro at $249. Apple touts the AirPods 4 as the best-fitting and best-sounding AirPods ever, with a significant enhancement in audio quality attributed to a new acoustic architecture.
In addition to Siri and Mac integration, the AirPods 4 also include features like conversation awareness and adaptive audio. Notably, both USB-C and wireless charging come standard with these headphones, making them a compelling choice for new buyers.
The AirPods 4 are currently available for pre-order and are set to ship on September 20.
