Apple has just released developer betas for iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, and macOS Sequoia 15.2, introducing new Apple Intelligence features such as Genmoji, Image Playground, Visual Intelligence, Image Wand, and ChatGPT integration.
These updates are coming right before the public launch of OS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1, which bring enhancements like writing tools, image cleanup, article summaries, and a new typing input for the revamped Siri interface.
In addition to these updates, Apple is providing APIs for three crucial Apple Intelligence features: Writing Tools API, Genmoji API, and Image Playground API. These APIs are meant to assist developers in incorporating Apple’s small model approach to generative AI in their applications.
The latest developer updates also extend language localization options, starting with English variants like Australian, Canadian, New Zealand, South African, and U.K. In the future, Apple plans to add support for Chinese, English (India), English (Singapore), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, and Vietnamese. However, users in China and the EU might face limitations due to regulatory constraints on accessing Apple Intelligence features.
