Apple has recently unveiled the latest developer betas for iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS 15.1 Sequoia, introducing new Apple Intelligence features. One standout feature is the ability to seamlessly remove objects from photos.
This new feature, called Clean Up, enables users to easily identify and delete objects from their photos while preserving the overall picture quality. Powered by AI, the system can intelligently generate background content to seamlessly fill in the missing areas. Apple assures that the system can even handle shadows or reflections of the removed objects while providing a natural-looking background.
Users can utilize the smart detection feature to select and remove objects with a single tap. Additionally, they have the option to manually circle or brush over unwanted elements for quick removal from the image.
Earlier this year, Apple’s competitor Google introduced a similar feature called Magic Eraser for Google Photos users at no additional cost.
In a prior release, Apple introduced a range of Apple Intelligence features with the iOS 18.1 dev beta, such as enhanced writing tools, notification summaries for SMS and Mail, natural language search, memory creation in Photos, transcription capabilities for calls and voice recordings in notes, and summaries with smart replies in Mail. However, Apple Intelligence is currently only accessible to users in English with their region set to the U.S.
