Apple unveiled four new iPhone models at its recent “It’s Glowtime” event, while also discontinuing some older models. The new lineup includes the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max, alongside existing models like the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, and third-generation iPhone SE. As a result, Apple has stopped selling the iPhone 13, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max to make way for the latest releases.
Although the discontinued models can still be found at third-party retailers at discounted prices, they will continue to receive software updates for the foreseeable future. For example, the upcoming iOS 18 update will support iPhones from 2018 onwards, including the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR.
Please note that Apple Intelligence will only be supported on the iPhone 16 series and the iPhone 15 Pro models. Additionally, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max come with larger displays.
The iPhone 16 series will be available for purchase starting this Friday, September 13, with shipments beginning on September 20. These devices offer new features such as updated chips, a Camera Control feature, new color options, and enhanced camera capabilities across all models.
Aside from the new iPhones, Apple also introduced the Apple Watch Series 10, AirPods 4, and made minor enhancements to the Apple Ultra 2, AirPods Max, and AirPods Pro 2.
