AMD’s Ryzen 9000 processors are set to launch this month, and an early preorder from a Slovenian retailer has revealed the pricing for all four Zen 5 desktop chips. The prices seem promising, with AMD keeping them lower than the Zen 4 launch prices, marking a welcome change in the industry. However, it’s worth noting that purchasing these new processors may not necessarily save you money.
Funtech, a Slovenian retailer, has opened preorders for the Ryzen 9000 series. The Ryzen 9 9950X is listed at 660 euros ($708), followed by the Ryzen 9 9900X at 500 euros ($536), the Ryzen 7 9700X at 400 euros ($429), and the Ryzen 5 9600X at 310 euros ($332).
Compared to the launch prices of the Ryzen 7000 series in Europe, AMD is offering significant price cuts for the Zen 5 processors. This includes a notable decrease in the flagship model’s price compared to the previous generation.

While pricing in the U.S. may vary, the Zen 5 processors are expected to cost more than their Zen 4 counterparts. This trend is not uncommon with new hardware releases, and AMD may follow a similar strategy of starting with higher prices and offering discounts later on.
Recent reports indicate that the Ryzen 9000 processors are expected to launch on July 31, with preorders starting earlier and shipping soon after. While these prices are based on a European retailer, it remains to be seen how they will translate to U.S. pricing.
It’s encouraging to see AMD considering competitive pricing strategies, aiming to offer a more reasonable price point for the Zen 5 processors at launch.
