Amazon CEO Andy Jassy is urging a full return to the office by the beginning of 2025. After working in the office three days a week for the past 15 months, employees will now be required to be in the office five days a week, with only exceptional circumstances allowing for remote work. Despite the push from Big Tech executives for employees to return to the office, the mandates have faced resistance from some tech workers.
U.S. tech giant Cisco has recently laid off thousands of employees in its second round of layoffs for 2024. The technology and networking company plans to reduce its workforce by 7%, around 5,600 employees. This comes after an initial layoff in February which saw approximately 4,000 employees let go.
