Google has finally introduced the Nest Learning Thermostat 4 after nearly a decade since the release of the previous model. This new launch marks a significant development in Google’s smart home strategy and aims to revitalize the Nest product line.
The company’s renewed focus on smart home technology aligns with the advancements in its generative AI model, Gemini. By leveraging Gemini’s capabilities, Google aims to enhance the conversational abilities of its Assistant and deliver more natural interactions for users.
According to Google’s announcement, the integration of Gemini models will make Nest devices smarter and easier to use, especially in areas such as cameras and home automation. Users can also expect a more natural and helpful experience with Google Assistant on their Nest speakers and displays.
The Nest Learning Thermostat 4 features a refreshed design with a customizable display and improved hardware. With a larger screen and more contextual information available, the new model aims to provide users with a seamless experience. Additionally, the thermostat utilizes AI for micro-adjustments based on user habits and external temperature.
Priced at $280, the Nest Learning Thermostat 4 comes with a complimentary Temperature Sensor to enhance temperature monitoring. Users also have the option to purchase additional sensors for $40 each or a three-pack for $99. The previous models will remain available until depleted, while the budget-friendly Thermostat E will continue to be offered at $130.
